I be comin here at least once a month.

It's really hard to find a Japanese restaurant I like. Their udon is pretty close to how Mifune's tasted. Not too salty, just packed with flavor. Their sukiyaki nabe is very close to my grandma's, not super sweet. It's hard to have anything else when you want to be reminded of the food your oba chan made. Score! Katsu curry is also recommended!

Service is quick, staff is nice.

My wife and I have been coming here for years. It's one of our favorite restaurants, and we went again this weekend and loved it. The food is great, the service is friendly, and the prices are very, very reasonable. The ramen and udon are particularly good.
Some of the negative reviews here are just ridiculous. They play music from a radio station instead of a playlist? Seriously? That's your objection? And I have never seen a "service charge" added on to my bill--although it would be totally understandable if they did, cause it must be a miserable experience trying to run a business in San Francisco. In any case, we always leave a very large tip anyway, because their food is great and their service is good! Maybe it's not a Michelin-starred Napa Valley nouveau riche bistro, Milady, but it's a very fun place for authentic Japanese food in one of the only three Japantowns left in California.
